Police Call Brick Adult Store a ‘Hotbed of Suspicious Activity’

BRICK – Authorities warn that an adult store in Brick is “a hotbed of suspicious activity” after 6 arrests were made behind it.

On March 5th, multiple drug arrests were made in the back lot of the Pleasure Zone Adult Superstore on Chambers Bridge Road. 27-year-old Brian Strassburg was arrested on suspicion of marijuana and paraphernalia possession and an unnamed suspect for heroin and paraphernalia possession. The following evening, detectives arrested Christian Luna and Jose Lina-Serrano for marijuana and paraphernalia possession. On April 11, Edward Restaino was arrested charged with methamphetamine and paraphernalia possession, and on May 15 Muhammad Umer, a Maryland resident, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and paraphernalia.

According to Brick Police Sergeant James Kelly, “The rear lot of the Pleasure Zone has been a hotbed of suspicious activity, including drug use. Police have also been in communication with the management of the Pleasure Zone about efforts on their part to dissuade people from utilizing their rear lot for such activities. Some of those efforts have included increased lighting in the area, installing surveillance cameras, and signage warning would-be criminals that the area is under surveillance.”

The store has no intentions to close and continues to operate daily.
